Paralympians Katie George Dunlevy & Eve McCrystal

At the age of eleven, Katie-George was diagnosed with the eye disease, Retinitous Pigmentosa (RP). RP is a chronic hereditary eye disease in which abnormalities of the photoreceptors of the retina lead to progressive visual loss. Now, she’s a national record holder in Tandem Cycling, one of the most exciting sports in the games. We talked to Katie-George and her pilot, Eve.

Support Paralympics Ireland’s crowdfunding campaign

Proud supplier of #PositiveEnergy to Paralympics Ireland for Rio 2016.

At Flogas, we take a partnership approach that delivers maximum benefit to the athletes, sports, and causes we work with. We create sponsorships that really make a positive difference and help give our athletes that extra 1-2% they need to compete.

Over the years, Ireland’s Paralympians have delivered some of the country’s most memorable sporting moments, and as we kick off the Rio 2016 Paralympics, we’re delighted to be official partners of Paralympics Ireland.

To celebrate this relationship, we decided to tell the incredible stories of four Irish Paralympic athletes – focusing on their paths to success, training regimes, and most importantly, the support they’ve received throughout their careers so far. Nobody is an island unto themselves, and the cumulative support of friends, family, coaches, sponsors and supporters can be the difference in winning a medal (we hope!).

Please take a look and share these incredible stories. And to help us support our Paralympians, use the hashtag #PositiveEnergy with your message on social media.
