Flogas Supports Run For Life At St. Benildus College
Flogas was one of the corporate sponsors of the annual Run for Life fundraising initiative organised by teachers and pupils at St. Benildus College, Kilmacud in Dublin on 14 November 2013. Former World Indoor Athletics champion and Irish Celebrity Masterchef winner David Gillick joined Paul Mannion from the victorious Dublin football team in helping their old school raise over €40,000 for charity. They gave the 700 students at St. Benildus College in Stillorgan a ‘run for their money’ in the school’s annual ‘Run for Life’ 10K charity race around Stillorgan and the surrounding area which has raised over €350,000 for local and national charities since it started 12 years ago. They were also joined by students from neighbouring St. Raphaela’s Secondary School for Girls.
Organiser and teacher Oisin MacEoin said, “ Our sincere thanks to Flogas and all our other corporate sponsors for their support of this great event . To the best of our knowledge, no other school undertakes a charity fundraising project of this magnitude on an annual basis. The students really get behind it and they can choose their own charities which gives them ownership of the event.”
Over 30 different worthy causes are set to benefit this year, including St. Vincent de Paul, Peter McVerry Trust, LauraLynn Hospice and the Dublin Simon Community..
