Richard Martin, managing director and Eoin O’Flynn from Flogas Ireland paid a visit at the end of October 2013 to The Mill (formerly the Drogheda Enterprise Centre) to present them with a €5,000 cheque. €5,000 was already given earlier this year and this cheque now brings the total amount donated by the company to €10,000. At the Mill, they met with chairman Graham O’Rourke and project manager Sean MacEntee to discuss the progress of Drogheda’s new enterprise hub since it opened its doors in October.
Richard Martin said, “It’s wonderful to see this very exciting project now open for business, as it were, and Flogas is delighted to have played a part in turning the dream into a reality. We look forward to continuing our association with the Mill and helping it to nurture and develop a strong spirit of enterprise and innovation in the North-East over the coming years.”
The Mill will provide space and supports for up to 16 growing companies and will act as a first-base for IDA-supported FDI projects. It will assist young unemployed people to explore self-employment as a real option and plans to collaborate with a Dundalk Institute of Technology and DCU on some novel SME-focused initiatives. It will also provide a one-stop-shop for state agencies to deliver more support and enterprise programmes in the Greater Drogheda area.
Flogas Ireland is one of the country’s leading providers of LPG and Natural Gas to the commercial and residential sectors in Ireland. Flogas Ireland directly employs 135 people in its LPG and Natural Gas divisions, the majority of who are based in the Drogheda area, at the Customer Support Centre in Knockbrack House, Donore Road and its Marine Terminal on the Marsh Road.
