Flogas Dairy Hot Water System attracts the crowds at Heffernan’s Farm Walk

The Flogas Dairy Water Heating System at Heffernan’s dairy farm at Caherlesk, Dunnamaggin, Co. Kilkenny was one of the highlights of the Open Day hosted on-site by Dairymaster on Wed 5th November 2014. The purpose of the event was to showcase the latest developments and innovations in dairy technology, cow comfort, herd health and farm construction.

The new Flogas Water Heating System had been installed on the farm some months ago and already has made an extremely positive impact on its dairy operations, according to the delighted Heffernan family. High water heating costs and difficulty in controlling temperatures are just some of the problems facing today’s dairy farmer so the audience was full of questions about the new system and the benefits it provided.

At Heffernan’s farm, Flogas has installed three FASTflo Andrews water heaters on-site which are connected to a Flogas LPG Tank. Each heater can produce 14 litres of hot water per minute at 80°C which means for three heaters a total of 42 litres of hot water per minute at 80°C. Therefore, in just ten minutes the farm has a very impressive 420 litres of hot water at 80°C.
