Dingle Brewery
Flogas brews up something unique in Dingle with LPG energy
The Dingle Brewing Company Challenge
When Dingle businessman Jerry O’Sullivan spotted a gap in the market for a quality Irish-made draught premium lager, he vowed to name it after one of the area’s most famous sons, the decorated Antarctic explorer Tom Crean. Just outside Dingle, a former creamery with an excellent spring well attached proved to be the ideal location to set up the newly formed Dingle Brewing Company. The next issue was finding the best energy to power the premises and he asked Flogas to come up with an energy solution for the new microbrewery.
The Flogas Solution
The Flogas Energy Solutions Team travelled to Dingle to meet Jerry and his project development team. Flogas carried out a complete survey of the various energy alternatives available and LPG came out on top in terms of cost, efficiency and environmental friendliness. The Flogas team recommended the installation of a large gas boiler to heat the premises and a steam boiler powered by LPG to boil up the malted barley. The boiler would also be used to keep the premises and equipment hygienically clean.
“Setting up a local microbrewery to produce quality Irish beers and drinks has been a dream of mine for several years. I want to sincerely thank the Flogas Energy Solutions team for all their help, assistance and advice which was invaluable to the project. Secondly, it’s also my own tribute to Tom Crean, a personal hero of mine ever since I was a boy growing up locally and long before his story became widely known. Here’s hoping his memory and his lager live on forever!” - Jerry O’Sullivan
